  1. I remember Geoff Cropper well from our days at Prescot Grammar School. One of his many claims to fame was to be awarded 98% in an early Latin exam. Boys from years ahead of ours would come into our form room and ask to meet him in awe at this feat. Most boys found Latin incomprehensible and were pleased to score any points at all in an exam.
